Highland Lutheran International School is an elementary school for children of missionaries serving the Enga Province. Brent Kilback is the headmaster. Tribal warfare and fire has affected HLIS in a big way. The school is continuing but LCMS missions have withheld funding of Brent due to liability risks. Brent spoke at Hope Bible class on October 20, 2003 and shared his heart's desire to continue as headmaster at Highland Lutheran School as long as he monetarily can do so. Hope Lutheran has agreed to be the source to gather and disperse monies to Highland Lutheran International School directly. Money sent directly to the school will help to fund Brent.
